The Arvidsjaur project covers an area of over 8,000 hectares where prospecting has been ongoing since the 1920s. However, it wasn’t until the 1970s, under the management of Boliden Mining, that drillings began systematically.

The surveys resulted in 100 drill holes totaling approximately 12,000 meters. In 2004, the new owner, Lundin Mining, began their investigations. The outcome was over 140 new drill holes totaling approximately 22,000 meters. Since Viscaria’s acquisition, an additional 25 drill holes have been added, with drill cores spanning 15,000 meters. Several of these drill holes penetrate deeper than previous explorations.
