Copperstone Resources AB (publ) today announces that the Land and Environment Court (Mark- och miljödomstolen, MMD) at Umeå District Court has announced a timetable for the company's application for an environmental permit for a reopening of the Viscaria mine in Kiruna. This means, among other things, that the main hearing is scheduled for February 2024.
In March 2022, Copperstone applied for an environmental permit for a reopening of the Viscaria mine in Kiruna and MMD proclaimed the application on May 24, 2023. Now the court has announced that the inspection of the area will take place on 29 September and that the main hearing is scheduled for February 2024.
"I am pleased that the process continues with clear steps forward and now we have even more clarity regarding the process. In September, it will still be snow-free, which means that the inspection will provide a solid basis for the upcoming main hearing. We are pleased that the announced timetable provides scope for all stakeholders to participate in a good way while we can continue the work towards production start around the turn of the year 2025/2026," said Copperstone's CEO Henrik Ager.
Copperstone's documents in the matter are published on the company's website under the tab Tillståndsportalen https://copperstone.se/tillstandsportal/miljoansokan/
